What is Threshold?

Threshold is both an Ending + Beginning. we encounter these junctions in transition, in movement, at the brinks. once we pass through them, we enter another World.

Threshold panels are a network of conversation + ideas at the intersection of Spirit, Art + Ecology. these quarterly gatherings aspire to

* create a critical mass — a conscious collective of heartful dreamers + doers
* become Gateways for consciousness to evolve towards regenerative practices, lives + work
* they seek to increase our embodied belonging to this incredible planet we call Home.

in this time of great upheaval + environmental change, we don't just need different ways of Doing; we also need different ways of Being. we need cultures that support the possibility of Long + Beautiful Futures.

these conversations are in service to seeding that Culture, in ongoing service to Life.

Radical Ritual + Ecology — Maps for Presence on the Verge of the World
Monday, September 20
630 - 8p EST

This panel is a live conversation facilitated by Mary Grace with guests Alysia Mazzella, Jamesa Hawthorne + Zaneta Sykes.

On this Full Moon in Pisces, we'll come together to explore —

◽️how ritual can serve as a container for transformation of self, community + environment
◽️approaching our work with ecological awareness. what does that mean + how we do that?
◽️how work—art can be ritual + vice versa
◽️what is the value of ritual in this moment of environmental crisis? does it become more or less important?
◽️how Nature helps remember who we are + what we came here to do

In addition to the live discussion, we'll dedicate 20-25 minutes to answer questions specifically from the live audience.

Alysia Mazzella is an artisan beeswax candle-maker based in Upstate, New York. Her candlework roots in the creative traditions of candles as nightlight and for ceremony. She enjoys studying the ancient relations of humans, fire, and the honeybee and shares this knowledge on Patreon. Outside of candles, Alysia is a writer, gardener, beekeeper, and mother. In her free time, she likes to sleep late, spend money on food, and constructively criticize American bakeries serving patisserie. That pastry better not taste like scrambled eggs

Jamesa Hawthorne began their love affair with nature as a child & their herbal medicine studies nearly a decade ago. They practice as a community & creative herbalist, participating in herbal mutual aid, markets, events, & teaching workshops.Studying herbalism in different parts of the country has informed their perspective on bioregional & seasonal herbalism. While they appreciate & weave clinical & scientific ways of knowing into their craft, New Orleans (traditionally known as Bulbancha ) nurtures the bulk of their herbal studies & community building, bringing them closer to ancestral & folk practices. Outside (& inside) of being an herbalist, they are also an artist of life, dancer, writer, pleasure activist, & dog parent.
